You've probably noticed the bumble bee that keeps cropping up on these pages. The reason is very simple. In German, the word "hummel" means "bumble bee". When I learned about this, I shared it with my granddaughter, Emily. She took to calling bumble bees "Hummel Bumbles", hence the name for this site.
